Inspiration behind the «Blumentier» (flower animal) motif
Reana — my brother and I were lucky enough to grow up with a wonderful dog. Timi was a white Bergamasco, and the most peaceful dog I have ever known. What a joy to be able to keep him alive in my «Blumentiere» series, where he brings other people joy as well.
The passion flower on his head is one of my favourite flowers. Its unusual shape, its symbolic strength – it stands for passion and depth, but also for calm within. Timi was exactly like that: quiet, gentle, strong. This motif is a very personal one for me – a piece of childhood, memory and love.
