The cutting boards have 4 non-slip rubber feet on the underside. The board does not slide about while you are cutting and stays exactly where you want it.

Design and making

Our cutting board is designed by Reana in Baden and made by hand with great care at the sheltered workshop Ekkharthof in Lengwil TG, Switzerland. We always use solid wood, from one piece or several.

Where does the wood come from

For oak we use wood from the region around Lake Constance (50 km around Kreuzlingen). The untreated walnut comes from the USA. All our timber comes from sustainable forestry.

Care and cleaning

  • ✓ After use, wash by hand with warm water and a mild washing-up liquid
  • ✓ Dry it well straight away – do not leave it standing to dry
  • ✓ NOT in the dishwasher
  • ✓ Every 2–3 months, rub it with food-safe oil (linseed oil, for example) or wood butter (such as Renuwell)

Tip – oiling regularly keeps the wood supple and water-repellent and prevents cracks. There is more about this in the «Wood care» tab above.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Which size should I choose

Size S (30x20 cm) is perfect for smaller kitchens, breakfast, cheese or as a serving board. Size M (39x24 cm) is ideal for cooking, chopping vegetables and for larger quantities.

How do I order an engraving

Simply write your wording in the notes field in the basket. We laser the text on the top surface, bottom right. Delivery time 1–2 working days. For logos or larger quantities, get in touch with us for a quote.

Is the cutting board dishwasher-safe

No, please clean it by hand only, with warm water and a mild washing-up liquid. The dishwasher damages the wood and shortens its life.

Where does the wood come from

Oak – from sustainable forestry, region around Lake Constance (50 km around Kreuzlingen). Walnut – from the USA, likewise from sustainable forestry.

Care instructions for wooden products

This is how your wooden product stays beautiful for a long time:

  1. Water is taboo – water is, next to fire, the biggest enemy of wood. Please always wash by hand, dry immediately and never put in the dishwasher.
  2. Oils for protection – Food-grade oils such as linseed oil, sunflower oil, rapeseed oil, etc. are easy to apply. They offer protection but need a few days to fully harden, so oil them and let them sit for a while.
  3. Constant humidity – Make sure the humidity remains constant, this will help the wood maintain its shape and stability.
  4. Even exposure to light – Expose the wood to sun and light evenly to avoid unwanted color differences.
  5. Wood wax for shine – A little wood wax makes the wood shine, but offers no protection against water.
  6. Avoid extreme temperature changes – Be careful not to expose the wood to extreme temperature changes to avoid cracking and warping.

With these tips, you can enjoy your wooden product for a long time. Have fun with it!
