Inspiration for the flower-animal motif

Reana: my brother and I were lucky enough to grow up with a wonderful dog. Timi was a white Bergamasco Shepherd – and the most peaceful dog I've ever known. So lovely that I can now immortalise him in my Blumentiere (flower animals) series, where he brings joy to others too.

The passion flower on his head is one of my favourite flowers. Its unusual shape, its symbolic power – it stands for passion, depth, but also inner calm. That's exactly what Timi was like: quiet, gentle, strong. This motif is very personal to me – a piece of childhood, memory and love.
