Our principles

We are Jan and Reana and are behind NaniManu – the design manufacturer.

As a married couple, we develop ideas for home accessories, gift items , and experiences that warm our hearts.

We love creative and imaginative products that transport us to a world of experiences that we would buy for ourselves or give as a gift.

We often come across products from friends that blow us away – these also find their place on our NaniManu platform.

By the way, “Nani” is Reana’s family nickname, and “Manu” is the abbreviation for Manufaktur.

Creating experiences

We are committed to ensuring that traditional craftsmanship still has a place in today's world, often combined with modern technology.

We achieve this with our own products and our events in the studio.

Our friends visit us regularly and show off their skills. Through workshops or their own range as a pop-up (short-term store concept).

Here you can find our current events: nanimanu.ch/events

In a world that is often dominated by quantity and speed, we are proud to take a different path. We believe in the power of less, in the conscious. Quality remains timeless.

Every step of our creative journey is executed with thought and dedication to ensure that the final product is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also tells a story.

For us, fair trade means recognizing the dignity and value of every individual along the production chain.

We want to protect and preserve our environment. Therefore, we work with environmentally friendly materials and attach great importance to minimizing our ecological footprint.

At nanimanu.ch we firmly believe that change is possible – through joint efforts and investing in a sustainable future.

The launch of NaniManu

The family brand NaniManu was launched in 2019 with Andy Hostettler, Marie-Anne Cobigo-Hostettler, Reana Hostettler-Durrer and Jan Durrer.

Since the four had already worked together for PanoramaKnife and Urwyler & Hostettler before NaniManu, the first products were primarily made of wood.

After some time, the interests of the founding members were redistributed.

Jan and Reana have decided that they want to expand NaniManu in a different direction – to work with different materials and also offer smaller gift ideas.

The design factory should create experiences.

Since April 2023, Jan and Reana have been shipping online purchases from their warehouse in Baden.

In addition, the company Hostettler & Durrer GmbH with the brand NaniManu has been wholly owned by Jan and Reana since October 2023.

Through various workshops in the studio and pop-ups hosted by our friends, the shop in Baden remains vibrant.
