How seed balls work

Seedballs are small balls made of soil, clay and seeds. You don't have to plant them, you can just throw them in the desired place and the plants will grow all by themselves.

The idea of seed balls is very old and was already used by North American natives. The method was rediscovered by the Japanese Masanobu Fukuoka after the Second World War. His philosophy: nature maintains itself, human intervention is hardly necessary. In the 1970s, seed balls - also known as seed bombs - were discovered by guerrilla gardeners in the USA. They use the technology to green fallow areas in urban areas. Today, seed bombs are used all over the world in guerrilla gardening or urban gardening.
