Cat «Bonita» – Postcard

Bring the majestic cat lady home with you! Illustrated by Reana, she shows the proud tabby cat with a bright yellow iris on her head – a floral symbol of wisdom, warmth and deep connection.

Inspiration for the flower-animal motif

Reana: Bonita came to Erika Herzig from a Spanish shelter more than 17 years ago – and didn't just enrich her life, but touched many others too. She had a personality you don't forget quickly: proud, attentive, independent, and at the same time deeply connected to the people around her.

Tabby cats like Bonita are considered curious, adventurous and independent – qualities she embodied with great dignity. The yellow iris on her head is not only one of my favourite flowers, but also a powerful symbol: it stands for friendship, wisdom, messages and deep relationships. In Greek mythology, the goddess Iris was the messenger between heaven and earth – and somehow that fits Bonita.

For me, this motif is a quiet tribute to a wonderful animal who lives on – in memory, and now also as part of my Blumentiere (flower animals) collection.
