This game is in German. Role booklets, clues and instructions exist in German only – without solid German the evening does not work. If your German is not up to it, have a look at our gift ideas instead.
In the mortuary of the St. Angela clinic lies a dead man. His heart is missing.
Five people were at the clinic that night. All of them saw something, none of them tells everything. From their statements you piece together what happened – until it becomes clear who knows more than they admit. It is played as Jubensha, a murder mystery role-play from China: everyone has their own role booklet, everyone plays, and there is no game master. «Herzlos» means «heartless».
We recommend «Herzlos» for tables of five who like it dark and want to trust nobody for one evening.
Do you really need exactly five players?
Yes. The case is written for exactly five people, as the publisher also states. For a group of seven, there is “Zeitschleifen”.
Can you play it more than once?
No. As with a good crime novel, you know the solution afterwards – each case can only be solved once.
Do you need a game master?
No. Everyone plays, including the host: simply pick a role for yourself before handing out the character booklets.
What if something is missing from the box?
Every box includes an access code. With it you can download up to two missing items as a PDF and keep playing.
Can you play over a video call?
It isn’t designed for that: everyone sits at the same table and needs access to the shared clues and documents.
How is it different from a murder mystery dinner?
Jubensha is darker and has more puzzles. Every role guards its own secrets, and it is not just about who did it, but about what really happened. If you prefer something lighter, choose a murder mystery dinner by Culinario Mortale.
Also lovely: Zeitschleifen or all murder mystery dinners.
