«Expedition in den Tod» (German for «Expedition into death») is a murder mystery dinner by Culinario Mortale for 5 to 7 players aged 16 and over, running roughly three to four hours.
The story
In search of an archaeological breakthrough, your expedition into the Peruvian rainforest has uncovered the burial chamber of the Moche priestess-queens. It should have been the making of Maria Felsenstein, Germany’s youngest professor of archaeology. Instead the celebration banquet ends in tragedy — the professor is found dead in the night. What happened, and who is responsible? The expedition members have to face the truth.
Number of players
- 7 players — 3 female and 4 male roles
- 6 players — 3 female and 3 male roles
- 5 players — 2 female and 3 male roles
Male roles can of course be played by women and the other way round.
Costume ideas
Dressing up is optional but helps you into the part. A few pointers:
- Outdoor kit — hiking shirt, trousers with plenty of pockets, boots and a hat for a proper expedition look
- Props — a torch, binoculars or a notebook to complete the explorer
Menu suggestion
Peruvian dishes suit this one. The game suggests:
- Starter — quinoa salad or papa rellena
- Main course — lomo saltado, a traditional meat dish, or locro de zapallo, a squash dish for vegetarians
- Dessert — pie de limón, the Peruvian lemon tart
