The prehistory
It is August 29, 2015 on the island of Norderney. On a warm summer night, the Belchmann beach villa is the scene of a lively celebration. Harro Belchmann, a real estate investment manager, raises his glass to his newly married wife. But this toast will be his last. Shortly afterwards, Harro is found dead in his sand garden. What happened on the North Sea beach? Which of the guests is carrying the dark secret? Only the wind knows the answer... and perhaps someone at the table.

- Arne Fries (35): A cousin of the victim and an antique dealer who loves the company of the island elite.
- Joris Olafson (67): A retired fisherman who supplements his income with wild catches.
- Sylke von Taunis (29): The victim’s new wife and prima ballerina at the Deutsche Oper.
- Fridan Tuleno (34): An ambitious real estate agent at “Belchmann Insel-Bau” who is fighting for recognition.
- Ben Belchmann (35): The victim’s brother, a songwriter who wants to finish his island tour on Norderney.
- Alma Fink (39): The talented cook of the restaurant “Zum Zwiebelbarsch” and a respected gourmet guide.
