Bring this majestic feline lady straight into your home! Illustrated by Reana Hostettler, it shows the proud tabby cat with a bright yellow iris on her head – a floral symbol of wisdom, warmth, and deep connection.

Inspiration for the flower animal motif

Reana Hostettler: Bonita came to Erika Herzig from a Spanish animal shelter over 17 years ago – and not only enriched her life, but also touched the lives of many others. She was a special personality, one that is not easily forgotten: proud, attentive, independent, and at the same time deeply connected to the people around her.

Tabby cats like Bonita are known for being curious, adventurous, and independent—qualities she embodied with complete dignity. The yellow iris on her head is not only one of my favorite flowers, but also a powerful symbol: it represents friendship, wisdom, messages, and deep relationships. In Greek mythology, the goddess Iris was the messenger between heaven and earth—and somehow, that suits Bonita perfectly.

This motif is for me a silent tribute to a wonderful animal that lives on – in memory and now also as part of my flower animal collection.
